What child doesn't like animals? The Phoenix Zoo is the perfect place to take your children if you are looking for something fun and educational for the whole family.
The zoo is in the middle of the desert, yet right next to the beautiful mountains in Scottsdale, and full of jungle areas for the animals on display. You will notice how large the zoo location is when you realize how many different animal homes there are. Bring your walking shoes, because you won't want to miss a thing!
Go pet a snake, feed an elephant, and hang out next to a baboon. Eat your picnic lunch at one of the many eating areas (what other establishment invites you to bring your own food?), while enjoying the view of real, live animals. Then, climb a tower to watch the tall, beautiful giraffes with the Texas longhorns in the background. Check out the large and slow-moving tortoises, and be surprised at the enormous size of the rhinoceros.
