For the second year, my son was given the opportunity to go to soccer camp courtesy of UsFamilyGuide and British Soccer Camp through Challenger Sports over the summer and was very excited. Last year he went for a half day but this year he went for full day camp for the week, which is totally worth the extra $40 for him and me.
Although it was extremely hot the week he went to summer camp (over 90 degrees every day) he thoroughly enjoyed himself.
What is British Soccer Camp? It is the most popular camp in North America! With an innovative curriculum that develops skills, speed and confidence in players ages 3-18, British Soccer Camps provide kids with an opportunity to receive high-level soccer coaching from a team of international experts right in the heart of their own community. In addition to teaching new skills and improving game performance, each British Soccer Camp provides lessons in character development (such as respect, responsibility, integrity, leadership and sportsmanship), cultural education and is the most fun your child can have learning the sport they love! Tyler also learned several soccer moves, but also tips on passing, shooting, dribbling, the throw in and keeper catches. To learn more about Challenger Sports go HERE.
On the first day of camp the kids met their soccer coach for the week and were given a soccer ball and a t-shirt.
On the last day each child was given a certificate of completion with a note from the coach, which I felt was a nice touch.
All in all I think this was a great experience for my son and I hope to be able to sign him up again next year but hopefully it won’t be so hot this time.
