If you've been around my blog for a while you probably remember that I've talked about Jord Wood Watches before. I have purchased a couple of them for Jason, he loves them! This time, Jord sent me a watch for *me,* I've never even owned a watch, so this was pretty exciting!
I didn't really think I needed a watch, but I do really love that everyone always stops Jason to ask about his... it's a big conversation starter, no matter where we are, or what we're doing! So, I decided it was time for me to be a grown-up, and put on a watch!
I thought that it wouldn't be very useful to me, I mean, I have my phone to check the time. I was wrong though! I realized, while wearing the Jord Wood Watch, I actually looked at the time! You know how that happens, you grab your phone to check the time and then you have to immediately check it 2 more times because you forgot to look at the time and you checked your email/Facebook instead and put your phone away. That's how I live my life, just checking my phone for the time and forgetting what I was even doing, wearing a watch prevents that. It helped me be more intentional with my time and keep my phone put away in social settings and when I am with my kiddos and family. I didn't think owning a watch would be a big deal, but I liked it so much!
These are really high-quality, long-lasting time pieces that make unique gifts for any loved one.
Hand-crafted wood timepieces. Raw material, refined design JORD is run by artists, designers, marketers, and minders. They spend their days creating, considering, arguing, and hopefully agreeing. Then they'll scrap it all for the joy of starting new. They have fun. They are focused on creating timepieces that are modeled after a modern lifestyle. Jord values sustainability, efficiency, and experiential living. They make their watches for people who don't just have somewhere to be, they have somewhere to go.
The value of a watch is not in being able to tell how much time has passed, but in being aware of the need to make that time count. Moments are bigger than minutes and your watch should tell more than time.
Out of all of Jason's watches, even after a couple of years of owning it, it's still his favorite. We've even purchased another one. Another cool thing that Jord offers is that you can send your watch in for servicing, we've done that a couple of times and the watches just come back beautiful!
