The year is going by so fast, I can't believe it's almost Christmas! After Thanksgiving we always go into Christmas mode. This year our Thanksgiving holiday was low key. We didn't go home for the holidays. We stayed at home, with just the 4 of us and our 3 furbabies. We cooked a simple meal and relaxed.
I needed to get into the Christmas spirit. So we headed out to World of Illumination in hopes to find that motivation to decorate and jump into Christmas mode. This was our first year checking out World of Illumination. We've been seeing it throughout the months being built so we were excited once it was open.
This is exactly what we needed! Tons of Christmas lights and decorations synchronized to holiday music by tuning into a station on your own car radio! There were a lot of other families who had the same idea. The World of Illumination light show is a drive-through attraction featuring over 2 million lights, synchronized to your favorite holiday music. One of the World's Largest Holiday Drive Through Light show, it's sure to get you and your family into the Christmas spirit!
I recommend you to get your tickets before heading down. They also sell kettle corn, hot chocolate and a few snacks before entering the attraction. No need to get out of your car at all. If you have a truck or a car with a sunroof, it's neat to cruise through the light show in the bed of the truck. The kids will love it! I saw many kids in the bed of the truck or sticking their heads out of the sunroof. My favorite part was the lighted tunnel. I enjoyed the music they played and how they synchronized the lights to the music. Upon entering you received a goodie bag with coupons but most importantly, a pair of 3D glasses. When you wore them through the light show, snowflakes were all around. It was a cute touch to the show. My youngest (11) enjoyed it! There was also a 36ft tall animated Snow man who sang along with the songs that played. Occasionally he would blow snow from his tophat. Just another added little touch to get those holiday smiles from kids of all ages.
If you're in Arizona, there are two locations this year! One in Glendale at Westgate or in Tempe at Diablo Stadium. Be sure to check out this attraction during the holidays! A portion of the proceeds benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
